Hi,
I have friend who was in US for 7 years (F1->H1) and moved back to India. Later, he came here on B1 for couple of times. What's the best option for him if he wants to come back to US to work full time.

My case is not premium processing and the online status changed to "approval notice sent " for 4 days before the status changed to " document sent ". Its an I 140 and I heard that the mistake was restricted to PP cases . So I do not think that is the issue . Some one said it could be the last status on an approved I 140

I believe you should be okay if you were not employed during that period. Remember the green card is for future employment.
But for the best advice check with an Attorney before you proceed to the interview and be prepared for questions regarding the gap.

My current AP will be expiring this Dec, and my priority date is Jan 2006.
I have a wedding in Canada in January 2011. I would like to know if I need an Advance Parole to Canada then re-enter? Somehow I read somewhere about Canada and Mexico have different requirements.

Yes, you WILL need AP. DO NOT leave without an APPROVED AP in hand, to Canada, as that will make your GC application deemed abandoned. Repeat, you need an APPROVED AP in hand, before you depart for Canada.

Please while protesting, Try to position yourself in ways where the society will accept you. I took sociology and learnt a great deal and I feel minorities need to find a common ground and establish themselves with a new society. Please do not make them detest us or bully us in anyway. My case was filed at NSC on august 3rd...transferred to VSC and the 485 was transferred to TSC evn though my 140 is fro NSC...donno the logic behind it though

Hi Guys,
My AOS has been filed in the summer of 2007 (August 2007 timeframe). Since then, my EAD and AP have been renewed twice, and I have re-entered the US on AP. My AOS has been due for over 180 days now.
My H1B expires in July 2009. Since I have not received my Green Card (AOS has not been approved yet) - my company lawyers have filed for H1B extension.
Question - I have applied for an internal job, within the same company. The job-title and job-role are different. The salary is the same.
Am I legally allowed to do this - i.e. change jobs internally to a different role, based on my EAD? Can I go ahead with this new job?

Wife got FP notice yesterday. None for me or my daughter. USCIS now has a new procedure where they will update the criminal background check without new fingerprints, unless old FP are unusable for whatever reason....That means no GC until end of July with all the remaining processing :(
Was hoping to be out of this agony earlier.......

I am planning to use AC21 and notify USCIS about it. I have the labor job title, code and salary. The salary applied was in hourly rate of $46. So at the new permanent job, I have it as annual salary.
So how much would $46 be in annual salary or should I just have an hourly rate on my experience letter from my new employer.

Apply H4 with lawyer or by ourselves? My lawyer took care of my H1B, green card cases. Do I need to apply H4 for my wife through my lawyer? What is the advantage of using lawyer with H4 application. Can I apply it by myself? Is there any H4 application checklist around? Thank you.
