This is not typical, this guy sounds like a scam, ignore..................This is not a family court.According to Mislim crap,you can marry as many as you wanted, you can divorce some saying talak over the phone.This is not some thing rational, stupid muslim crap, i dont understand why every one is eager to help him.

One rich women says all kind of worst words to the holy man and to his followers. In that situation, the holy man walks away from her house to next but the followers will continue to fight with her. After some time, the followers say to the holy man that "we are fight for you and you walk away without giving the support..."

Olny thing is this time my I-140 is approved and I have disclosed that info in my application. I am hoping that nothing will go wrong. PM me if you want feedback after my interview.
Well ...I know a friend who was asked bu consulate to provide the proof that he has a labor pending...So they already know your immigrant intent..and they have accepted it...So your I-140 info should not be a problem...

May be they can accept I-485s for July to honor original July bulletin. They can do this without changing any law as they can say they are accepting as per DOS bulletin for ones who already filed or going to file as per original bulletin.

If you have nothing nice to say, maybe saying nothing may be the nicest thing. Sometimes links like this are actually very useful - especially to people coming here for the first time (or first few times)
You can do hero worship of your lawyer whoever it is. I will not.
Ask him/her if he will do advocacy effort for you or sue USCIS since all his clients are struggling in the long wait and spending a lot of money on immigration consultations, fees etc.
Ask him if he contribute to IV instead?
Ask him to give you priority instead of your employer who gives him business every year.
Ask him why AILA is not giving you regular updates through him. As clients of lawyers we should get regular updates and prompt responses. What are they doing about country caps removal, end of retrogression, recapture etc. I mean they are so powerful, so why can't they do it for us so that we no longer need lawyers and save a lot of money? Arn't we all spending thousands of $s on immigration attorneys ? and only few of us pay only $25 and many are free members and get such a good service from IV website. We all hate to pay a single dollar to IV and accuse IV core of asking contributions every time there is a drive but IV still helps us. They need to learn from us.
Why none of us has the courage to do it, but we have the courage to trash talk IV and blame its core for not working hard enough for our $25.

yes job market in canada is not good. Alberta (but ist very cold though) is doing better because of the oil sector (oil prices very high)

I have two 797s: one which is current valid till June 2007 and the other from July '07 till July '10 (using my approved I140). I am going for visa stamping this March at Chennai consulate. Can they combine both my 797s and stamp me till 2010 or they'll do it only till June 2007?
They will stamp for the latest i797A. The old one is obsolete. If you notice the I94 numbers are the same.

I think we need to be careful these kind of conversations aren't detrimental to the current campaign and to IV. I am new here, but I do also feel the drive that chanduv23 has and you know, sometimes you do feel like posting it everywhere and on your forehead. This backlog situation sometimes gets the better of us! I am all for organizing too, we need that. But I do sympathize with those who feel desperate to reach as many visitors as possible. There are still folk out there who would like to send their letter, let's encourage them and still be organized. I promise to keep my posts to threads already existing from now on. Thanks :)

For eax, mine was Dec 2002.I downlaoded 2002,03,04.My record was found in 2004 database.
If you open the Access db (You need to have MS Access to view these files.If you dont have it, downlaod the free trail version from microsoft.com)
If you open the file, it is the database of all the Labors that are filed in that year.One of the attribute is the Employee name.You can also search on Attorney name.
If I were you, i would first filter on Employee State and then search for the Employee name.
Its simple.Try it and let me know if you need further help.

I agree with sri1309. This would stop the bleeding of the economic crisis. Folks just wont stop by buying house alone, they all will be motivated to spend more money. guys, our folks most of them are well positioned with good paying jobs and pay and the only reason for not spending and not buy houses are because of the insecurity of the stay due to the h1b extension.
We all to some extent know that this whole mess is due to the deregulation of the financial institiution and because of which high supply of houses ( SUPPLY and DEMAND. Now with the bailout government owns all these houses). By passing some legislation can control the deregulation but how do you sell the government owned houses quickly to the people? who will buy? Immigration is the best option. Here is my recommendation, regulate and tightenend the loans for the house constructing companies to control the supply side from the constructing compnay and issue green cards to all the legal immigrants to increase the demand side of the equation. Additionally bringing the ?? milliion illegal immigrants to legal will increase the tax revenue of the government. My 2cents says that whoever the next president, the comprehensive immigration reforms would be the best solutions for solving the current economic mess.

First of all, ethnicity has nothing to do with hard cap.
Today, the soft cap exists, and the numbers are retrogressed only for India and China. REST of the world is current. Hard cap would make things worse for only those countries that have higher demand and WASTE the visa numbers.

I have a question regarding use of EAD and living in Canada
My scenario
Currrently, I work on H1-B and am living in Canada (I cross US-Canada border everyday)
I am also a Canadian Citizen and used that to cross border everyday. So, far I never used the EAD
I recently got laid off, and planing on using my EAD for my next employment.
Questions
Once I start using the EAD, can I still live in Canada and work in US.
Is it necessary to live in US if one starts using EAD?

People do not agree and have different ideas - sometimes to the point of personal hurt! - this is natural. They have different interests and even when they have shared goals, sometimes their paths to those shared goals may diverge - this is natural, too. Yes, differences, discussion and divergence can lead to a final separation and then two or mroe new groups are born - and it can happen naturally and it does not have to be rushed or forced through censorship and persecution. I do think that a lot of the most contentious discussions on this forum are actually the most important and interesting ones because those are the oens that will cut to the heart of the problem and reveal the real depths of the issues. Suppression of diverging opinions is the hallmark of dictatorships.

Thanks for your reply. My main question is, if I do the H1B transfer (to a company other than the one that filed my labor, 140, 485), who has to submit the application for my spouse's 485 (when the priority date becomes current), my new employer or the old one that originally filed my 485?
